Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and determine how therapy can best support you. Prior to your appointment, you will receive intake paperwork through a secure, mobile-friendly client portal that can be completed online at your convenience.
During our first session, we will review any questions you may have about the paperwork, discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your goals, and talk about my approach to counseling. Together, we will create a plan that feels right for you and discuss scheduling future sessions.

Feeling nervous is completely normal. Therapy involves sharing personal experiences, thoughts, and emotions with someone new, and that can feel vulnerable.
My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable moving at your own pace. You are always welcome to ask questions, share concerns, and take the process one step at a time.

You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Many people begin therapy simply knowing that something feels overwhelming, difficult, or different than they would like it to be.
Together, we will explore your current challenges, relationships, life experiences, strengths, goals, and patterns that may be impacting your well-being. Even if you are unsure where to start, I'll help guide the conversation and support you through the process.

Many emotional struggles are rooted in painful or overwhelming experiences that continue to affect how we think, feel, and relate to others. Trauma can result from childhood experiences, relationship wounds, abuse, neglect, loss, accidents, or other significant life events.
As a trauma-informed and EMDR-trained therapist, I help clients process difficult experiences, reduce emotional distress, and develop healthier beliefs about themselves and their relationships. Therapy provides a safe space to explore your experiences, build resilience, and move toward healing at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Yes. Infertility, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and the transition into parenthood can bring unexpected emotional, physical, and relationship challenges. Feelings of grief, anxiety, isolation, guilt, overwhelm, or changes in identity are more common than many people realize.
Therapy offers a supportive space to process these experiences, strengthen coping skills, improve communication with loved ones, and navigate this season of life with greater confidence and self-compassion.
-
Yes. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy approach designed to help individuals process traumatic experiences and negative beliefs about themselves.
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds, to help the brain reprocess difficult experiences in a healthier way. When appropriate, EMDR can help reduce the emotional impact of past experiences and support lasting healing.

Couples therapy is tailored to the unique needs and goals of your relationship. Whether you're looking to improve communication, rebuild trust after betrayal, strengthen emotional connection, resolve conflict, or navigate life transitions together, we will work collaboratively toward meaningful change.
Early sessions often focus on understanding relationship patterns, identifying barriers to connection, and learning practical communication and conflict-resolution skills. As therapy progresses, we explore deeper emotional needs, relationship dynamics, and opportunities for healing and growth.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to couples therapy. Each relationship is unique, and our work together will be tailored to meet your specific needs and goals.

It's common for one or both partners to feel uncertain about starting couples therapy. Many people worry about being judged, misunderstood, or that the therapist may take sides.
My role is to provide a balanced, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where both partners feel heard and understood. I work collaboratively with couples to identify patterns, improve communication, strengthen connection, and work toward shared goals.
I also maintain a "no secrets" policy in couples therapy. If information is shared individually that could significantly impact the relationship, I encourage transparency and support partners in addressing these conversations openly. Healthy relationships are built on trust, honesty, and accountability.
-
Most therapy sessions are approximately 45–50 minutes. Depending on your needs and scheduling availability, extended sessions may be available for couples or families by scheduling two sessions back-to-back.
-
Therapy is tailored to your unique needs and goals. Many clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and support their progress. As goals are met, sessions often transition to biweekly, monthly, or as-needed appointments.
Some clients prefer to start biweekly due to scheduling or financial considerations, and that is completely okay. We will work together to determine a schedule that best fits your needs. Recurring appointments are available for those who prefer a consistent day and time.
